Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works has won a ₹98.06 crore contract from the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) for maintaining a 146 km stretch of National Waterway 1 along the River Ganga. The three-year contract, extendable by two years, involves dredging operations using cutter suction dredgers, marking the company’s entry into this segment. CEO Sujay Kewalramani emphasized the potential of India’s extensive 20,000+ km river system and expressed aspirations to secure further IWAI projects. The initiative is part of a World Bank-funded program, highlighting the company’s growing expertise in river dredging and maintenance.
